OTHER WORK EXPERIENCE

MEDICAL CENTER FOR EATING DISORDERS

Working under Jennifer Nagel, RD, LD, PA-C, I learned the ropes of treating eating disorders nutritionally and physically. I was able to work with patients suffering from anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, and orthorexia and learn the medical complications that these disorders bring to the body. It was here that my philosophy on nutrition was shaped. I believe that there are no "bad" foods, that intuitive eating is the best way to live a healthy lifestyle, society's expectations of weight are bogus, and each person has a set-point weight where there body is the happiest and healthiest.

TEXAS A&M ATHLETICS

STUDENT ATHLETE SERVICES

As mentioned before, teaching nutrition is a passion of mine. I first discovered this when tutoring student-athletes in a variety of nutrition courses and helping them make comparisons between what they were learning in the classroom to how that knowledge could affect their performance in their sport. I was able to create study guides to assist their professors' lectures and help them understand the information by teaching it in a fun, inviting environment.

DOUBLEDAVE'S PIZZAWORKS

During my time at DoubleDave's, I was able to put my Food Safety Manager License to use as I assisted the offsite manager with deliveries to Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park. In addition to helping place orders for appropriate number of units to be delivered, I helped in maintaining temperature regulations and providing excellent customer service.

OTHER LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE

TEXAS A&M STUDENT GOVERNMENT
STUDENT HEALTH SERVICES COMMITTEE

I was nominated to be on the Student Health Services Committee my junior year and was able to assist Texas A&M health care professionals make positive changes around campus, such as adding more microwaves to encourage students to bring their own meals and reheat them, especially if they are required to stay on campus all day.

FRESHMAN LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE

After being a member in Freshman Leadership Experience my freshman year of college, I was selected as a counselor for the following year. Alongside seven other counselors, we selected forty freshmen to mentor and council throughout the year, help them network throughout the college of agriculture, and build their leadership skills to become leaders of our college.

OTHER INVOLVEMENT

COLLEGIATE AND PROFESSIONAL SPORTS DIETETICS ASSOCIATION (CPSDA)

TEXAS A&M'S NUTRITION AND DIETETIC ASSOCIATION (NDA)

NATIONAL AMERICAN MISS

After being placed here for a week by Clayton Personnel Services, I was asked to stay for three more weeks helping as a customer service representative. During this time, I grew more confident in speaking on the phone, handling a variety of personalities, and resolved conflict by collaborating with customers. I assisted with other various tasks around the office including organization and assembly of competition packets.
