TEXAS A&M PERFORMANCE NUTRITION

For four years, I've had the privilege of working under several performance dietitians at Texas A&M - Jon Tanguay, Blair Hitchcock, Diana Nguyen, Nikki Jupe, and Alyson Onyon. As the program grew tremendously, so did my workload and experience working with a range of sports teams and athletes.

I performed daily tasks such as working the the fueling station to make fresh, fruit-based smoothies, stocking refrigerators with high protein drinks for post-workout recovery, supplying "snack packs" that the athletes were allowed to pick up on their way to class, and putting together snack bags for teams when they were traveling.

I was also able to help with various projects such as making smoothie and peanut butter-ball recipe creations, using the DXA machine to perform body composition scans, creating social media templates and handouts, and assisting in creating meal plans that worked around the athletes' schedules using a combination of several energy need equations.

Most recently, I have been working individually with Texas A&M's baseball, men's tennis, and men's basketball teams.

Alongside the help of my boss, I gained experience in developing an easy-to-read meal plan following an exchange program that assists student-athletes in eating meals and snacks throughout the day to optimize their performance. I was also able to help counsel these students and teach them how to make good food decisions based on their energy needs.
